Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 1 November 2026
1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts concluded by a consumer or business with us via the online shop on this website (george-dubose.com or gdb-fineart.com).
A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly neither commercial nor self-employed.
2. Contracting party
The contracting party is:
George S.W. DuBose Wiedstrasse 16 D-50859 Cologne Germany E-mail: boss@george-dubose.com Phone: +49 160 4811234
3. Subject matter
The contract covers the sale of fine art prints (photographs) in the formats offered (A3, A2, A1). Prints are produced for you after your order is received. Minor deviations in colour and tone compared to the on-screen display are inherent to the printing process and do not constitute a defect.
By purchasing a print you acquire ownership of the physical print. Copyright and usage rights to the photograph are not transferred; in particular, reproduction, publication and commercial exploitation of the image are not permitted without a separate licence.
4. Conclusion of contract
The presentation of products in the shop is not a binding offer but an invitation to order.
By completing payment via Stripe Checkout you submit a binding offer to conclude a purchase contract. The contract is concluded when the payment is confirmed by Stripe. You will then receive an order confirmation by e-mail.
5. Prices and shipping costs
The prices shown are final prices in euros or US dollars including any applicable statutory VAT.
In addition we charge a flat shipping fee of β¬15 or $15 per order, regardless of the number of prints. Shipping is only available to the countries selectable at checkout.
For deliveries to countries outside the European Union, customs duties, import VAT and fees may apply and are to be borne by the recipient.
6. Payment
Payment is processed by the payment service provider Stripe. The payment methods displayed at checkout are offered, in particular credit and debit cards as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. The purchase price is due immediately upon conclusion of the contract.
7. Shipping and delivery
Goods are shipped from Germany by a shipping carrier after receipt of payment. As prints are made to order, the expected delivery time is 5 to 10 business days after receipt of payment. This is a non-binding estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date.
For consumers, the risk of accidental loss or deterioration of the goods passes upon handover to the consumer.
8. Retention of title
The goods remain our property until payment has been made in full.
9. Right of withdrawal
Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days. Details are set out in the withdrawal policy below.
The direct cost of returning the goods is borne by the customer. Please return prints in the original packaging or equally well protected.
10. Warranty
Statutory warranty rights apply. For consumers the limitation period is two years from receipt of the goods. We do not provide any additional voluntary guarantee beyond the statutory warranty.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence as well as under the Product Liability Act. In cases of slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations and limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract.
Liability for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health remains unaffected.
12. Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory provisions of the state in which they habitually reside.
We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the remainder of the contract remains valid.
Withdrawal policy
Right of withdrawal You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you, or a third party named by you who is not the carrier, take possession of the goods.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (George S.W. DuBose, Wiedstrasse 16, D-50859 Cologne, Germany, e-mail: boss@george-dubose.com, phone: +49 160 4811234) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an e-mail). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but this is not mandatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient that you send your notice of exercising the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Consequences of withdrawal If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse all payments received from you, including delivery costs (except for additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and no later than fourteen days from the day on which we receive notice of your withdrawal. We will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; in no case will you be charged any fees for this reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or until you have provided evidence that you have returned the goods, whichever is earlier.
You must return or hand over the goods to us without undue delay and in any case no later than fourteen days from the day on which you notify us of your withdrawal from this contract. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the fourteen-day period has expired. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
